First Day of School

Ok. I know that school started a loooong time ago.  My kids started about 3 weeks after that.  And it's been about 6 weeks now.  So here's some pictures of the first day of school.

Hazel was really excited for school while she was at home (picture on the left).  But the excitement waned a bit by the time we were actually there (picture on the right).  I had to leave her in her class with tears in her eyes (no picture of that).  I was heartbroken for her.  But she was fine and happy again when I picked her up at the end of the day.  Mostly Hazel gets nervous to try new things.  But she does them anyway, and is always glad she did afterwards.  I am proud of her for being brave.

Aspen and Isaac did great too.  I don't think they were particularly excited for school.  But they were bored and wanted to make new friends and get on with the new stuff. Isaac was super stylin' with his fedora and coordinating Vans. (I convinced him to get the shoes by telling him they would go great with the hat.  He caved right away:)
I forgot to get a picture of Toby.  He started almost 2 weeks later than the others, so I'll get around to it sometime. He wasn't too excited about starting school again.  But he agreed that going back to public school would be a good thing.  And now I think he actually enjoys school.
I think that everyone likes school.  I'm glad for that.  It's always a little tough being the new kid.  But everyone is making friends, enjoying their classes and fitting in.  Life's good.

the first day of school as the new kid is always rough. I have been through it more times than I would like to remember. Good on ya Hazel (as they say in Australia)

I remember in high school a girl moved in from New York. And I remember thinking that that sounded like the scariest thing in the world - to be a new kid from far away!!

Since then I've moved a few times and been the "new kid" a few times - and frankly think it would be fun to try a new place now!

Oh My Word, I LOVE how Aspen's hair is growing out. She looks amazing, as do all of your children.
