Haaappy Birthday!

Today was Hester's birthday.  So we had a party.  With crowns. (It was a royal themed party.)

Joey, Mercy, and Sarah came over to help celebrate.
Hester requested pumpkin chocolate cheesecake.  I got to buy a new pan (yay!) and then I searched the internet for a recipe.  I was a little nervous.  I've never made cheesecake before.  But I found a Paula Dean recipe (had to be good right?) And I combined it with a couple others to come up with a chocolate crusted and ganache covered pumpkin cheesecake.  It was delicious.  I think there is, maybe, a 2 inch slice left over.
We made gem encrusted crowns.  And we ate lots of great food. We had a lot of fun with our family.

I have loved having Hester and Moses here with me for the last month.  I will miss them when they go home on Saturday.  But I guess that maybe Andreas misses them too.  That isn't stopping me from trying to convince them that they should just move into our basement.

I would love having all of you living somewhere near us - we don't have a basement but it's pretty warm here - you could camp out!!
