Fishing

We took our annual fishing trip a couple weekends ago.  We seem to only get around to fishing about once a year (usually in September too).  This year we were invited by some new friends to go with them as part of a local Special Olympics activity.  They have two special needs teenagers, in addition to their 3 little kids under 4!  The great part of this activity was that all the gear was provided.  No work for me except to show up.  And it was about 10 minutes away.  Even easier.
Toby doesn't like to fish.  So he caught bugs, and caterpillars instead.

Hazel and Isaac tried their luck at fishing.

Aspen hung out with Andy (one of our friends' daughters).
It was a beautiful morning.  Cool and clear.  We even saw a bald eagle swoop out of the sky on the other side of the lake!  (Apparently there are more than ten nested pairs of bald eagles nearby.  Five or six pair are actually in Lawrence city boundaries, with more out by the lake - a different lake than the one we were fishing at.)  Anyway, no one caught any fish.  There were a couple nibbles but no actual fish.

And when everyone started skipping/ throwing rocks, I knew we were done fishing for the day.
