Day 16: Homemade Christmas

Every year I have grand plans for handmade gifts and Christmas stuff.  I rarely get them done in time, if at all.

But this year has been more productive.  Thanks in large part to my friend coming over every week to sew.  She has been working on a quilt and other projects for her children and needed a place to keep them secret from little eyes.

It has inspired me to actually get my projects done as well.  Besides, it is always more fun to have company when you are working on stuff.

So I made Hazel some doll clothes for the American Girl doll that Santa is bringing her.  Doll clothes are sooooo cute!  And are pretty quick to make up.  I also made a couple of t-shirt quilts for the boys (it is kind of cold here and they will be used a lot I think).

And I actually finished all the kids new pajamas for CHristmas Eve.  I wanted to make dresses for the girls too.  But, since CHristmas is in 3 days, I don't think that's going to happen.  We bought new sweaters to wear with skirts and pants we already had instead.

One year I vowed to make handmade gifts for everyone. My parents were coming to Utah for Thanksgiving, so I planned to send them home with them. I actually got them all done - but that was a very long time ago - I've never duplicated the feat!!

And you are right - a lot more sewing gets done with company!!
