Day 9: Christmas Treat

I love cookies.  And I love making so many different goodies at Christmas time.

Frosted Sugar Cookies with sprinkles are always a must.

When I was a little girl I looked forward to Christmas baking day with my cousins at Grandpa Kerksiek's house.  We would get together andmake many different kinds of cookies for my grandpa.  Sugar, wagon wheels, thumbprints, spritz, chocolate chip.  And then we would store them in old reel to reel movie tins.  I wonder if I could find any of those on ebay?

The cookies don't last very long around here.  I have grand plans to freeze some so that they will last.  But.....yea, they are just too yummy.
Aspen made Pioneer Woman's Molasses Spice Cookies last week -- those were fabulous.  Soft and gingery.  Yummmmm.  And of course we made those Peanut Butter Blossoms (you know, the peanut butter cookies with Hershey Kisses in them?)  Also didn't last the day.  Coming up soon will be wagon wheels (Chocolate cookies rolled in powdered sugar).  I think we'll try a peppermint variety this year.  Then Oatmeal Butterscotch Craisin, some more sugar cookies, maybe some pepparkaka, snickerdoodles, chocolate chip, and more molasses spice cookies and peanut butter blossoms.  Yea, we like cookies around here.

I remember the film reel tins - I may even have one kicking around!!

Peanut blossom cookies always do me in - I can NEVER resist them. It's a good thing I don't have an oven these days! (A good thing for my waistline!)
