At first Hazel just asked for a bag. I told her to go choose out some fabrics. Then I had to go help her choose so that she picked appropriate bag fabrics. This one is a finewhale corduroy and some quilting cottons.

Suddenly we were picking lining fabric.

Then we were doing an applique. And a flap.

Then pockets, and top stitching. Hazel wanted button covered snaps too. But I'm hoping she doesn't remember that part.
There's a reason I don't start projects. They tend to get out of hand very quickly. And what started out as a simple cross-body bag, ends up being a lined, flapped, appliqued, topstitched messenger bag.
Too many ideas in one place. I blame Pinterest.

But it's a very cute bag!! I know nothing about Pinterest - and I think I'd better not find out!
The bag is cute. I am impressed. I too haven't even started iwth Pinterest.
It's gorgeous and I love the applique fabric. We'll have to get together sometime for simple projects (I'm a beginning sewer) so I can learn from you!
