Port A: part 2

Though we spend most of our time at the beach on the beach.  We did a couple other things too.  It seems that every beach town has a souvenier shop with a giant shark at the front door.  And we always have to get souveniers:)Big fish.Every beach town has a jaws door to their souvenir store. #texas #shark

Local candy shop. Everything is one price so you jut fill up a bag and pay at the counter. We walked away with waaaay too much candy. #candy #texasSo many choices! #candy
In Port A there is a candy store called Winton's.  And it is just full of candy.  It's all one price.  You just pick up a small white paper bag and fill it up.  Heaven for small (and not so small) kids.  There was also a snake in a cage in the back (kind of odd for a candy store.)
Gummy caterpillars. #candyHazel and her bag of candy.
Lots of gummy candy.  Gummy alphabet letters were popular.
Letter gummies from the candy store. #candyWe also met up with all our friends and went to see Brave at the movie theater.  We took up two whole rows in the theater!  Good thing some of us went early (it was opening day.)

I found this cute heart in my yummy Thai curry.Eating dinner seated on the floor around the hotel coffee table. Pretty yummy
Since we stayed in a hotel this year (instead of renting a house with a kitchen to cook dinner), we ate out a lot.  The last night we were tired of the usual pizza and burgers.  So we found a Thai restaurant and got take-out.  When I picked up the food I got worried because the restaurant was empty.  But it was delicious! And who can resist finding cute carrot shapes in their rice?
Post-beach relaxation.Hazel was A little tired after spending the day in the sun at the beach. I guess Daddy was pretty comfy. #sleep
We brought lots of books to read.  I think Toby read all 15 books I brought.  The kids came back from the beach each day very tired.  Hazel fell fast asleep on Nate's back.  He stood up and walked around and she didn't even wake up!
Happy Birthday to my baby who turned 17 today. (I'm feeling old.)
Both of the boys' birthdays happened at the beach this year too.  So we picked up a cake at HEB (my favorite grocery store ever) and celebrated in the hotel lobby.  I can't believe that Toby is 17!  Isaac's birthday was the day we left, so we didn't get much celebrating in for him.  (We just postponed it a day or two.)  One day I want to buy a house at the beach.
