Day 11: Must Be Santa

Saturday night was our ward Christmas party.  I must admit that I didn't want to go.  I wasn't feeling well.  I don't know many people in our ward yet and didn't feel up to sitting in a room full of mostly strangers.  But I knew that Santa would be there and Hazel really wanted to talk to him.  She was worried that he didn't get her 3 phone messages (vonage customers can call Santa and leave a voice mail.  The voicemails are emailed back to you.  Very Sneaky.)

So we went.  Hazel was first in line to see Santa.  She told him she wanted an American Girl doll. I got her picture. Then she got her candy cane and let the next person go.  Mission accomplished.

I had the same attitude about our ward Christmas party this year - I had a wedding reception I very much wanted to attend - so I did! And came late to the ward party. And no one seemed to notice at all - and I've lived here 32 years!

The conversation with Hazel in the car two days later was pretty awesome too. We were talking about Santa at the church party, and she asked "what was up with Sant's beard? I saw him pull it up. And he wasn't fat. . ."
