When I was growing up Mom always made some with the left-over frosting when she made cake. And I usually had one in my lunch. I thought everyone's mom made these treats. I guess not. My friends in elementary school were always willing to trade their Oreos for my frosted graham crackers. (We didn't get store bought cookies very often - I didn't know how lucky I was that Mom baked us cookies instead.)
When I lived in Texas, I would get together with girlfriends to watch The Bachelor, or to just get out. I brought frosted graham crackers a few times. I never had any left overs. They are quite addictive and so yummy. Much better than any storebought cookie.
So try them out if you've never had one. Any brand of honey graham cracker and homemade chocolate buttercream frosting. (Frosting in a can isn't the same.) And then let them sit until the cracker is a little soft and the frosting has a crust. They're good in milk too.

I too remember being baffled to find out that no one else's moms made frosted graham crackers. Our moms are brilliant. Also, I concur on the waiting till the grahams are a little soft. Yum...
Funny story - I was making frosted graham crackers one afternoon when we lived in the duplex in Centerville - a business associate of Harry's arrived - in a suit, pretty distinguished looking too - and Harry said, "Would you like a frosted graham cracker?" (When we got married, I discovered that Harry had never heard of them, but he soon came to love them like any good Clayton!) I was thinking that this guy would be pretty disdainful about the whole set up, but he surprised us all by sitting down to the table and saying, "I haven't had these in ages - can I have a glass of milk too?"
I believe we've spread the word considerably over the years!! The world is a better place for having frosted graham crackers in it!
I still love frosted graham cracker but you can't find graham crackers most of the places in the world that I have lived in so i always send a few boxes. I have only one box left from the three I brought with me this time to Yemen. I am glad that our mom made them so that we could pass them along.
